RISE Toolbox -- License Agreement
=================================
Version 1.0

Copyright (c) 2009-2026 Junior Maih. All rights reserved.

The RISE Toolbox ("the Software") is distributed by Junior Maih ("the
Author") in compiled (p-coded) form. The Software is proprietary; it is
licensed, not sold. This document sets out the terms on which you may use
it.  By installing, copying, or using the Software you accept these terms;
if you do not accept them, do not use the Software.

1. Grant of license
The Author grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable,
revocable license to install and run the Software on computers under
your control, for your own non-commercial research, teaching, and study.

2. No redistribution; no transfer
This edition of the Software is distributed by the Author directly --
for example, to participants in the Author's courses and to colleagues
and personal contacts. You may not redistribute, publish, share,
sublicense, sell, rent, lend, host, or otherwise make the Software, or
any part of it (whether modified or not), available to any other person
or organization, by any means. You may not transfer this license.

3. No reverse engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise
attempt to recover the source code of the Software, nor circumvent its
p-coding or any other technical protection measure, except to the
limited extent that such a restriction cannot lawfully be excluded.

4. No commercial use
You may not use the Software for any commercial purpose. "Commercial
purpose" means use that is primarily intended for, or directed toward,
commercial advantage or monetary compensation -- for example, use by or
for a for-profit entity in connection with its products or services, or
paid consulting or other paid services to third parties that rely on the
Software. Use of the Software by you in the ordinary course of academic
research and teaching at a university, central bank, or other non-profit
or public institution is not, by itself, a commercial purpose.

5. Notices
You may not remove or alter any copyright, authorship, license, or other
notices contained in the Software or its accompanying materials.

6. Citation
If you publish, present, or otherwise make public any results, data,
figures, or other work obtained with the aid of the Software, you shall
cite the Software appropriately. A standard reference for the methods
    implemented in the Software is:

Junior Maih (2015), "Efficient perturbation methods for solving
regime-switching DSGE models", Norges Bank Working Paper 1/2015.

References for specific features are listed in README.md.

7. No obligation to support or update
The Author is under no obligation to provide updates, upgrades, bug
fixes, support, or maintenance of any kind.

8. Term and termination
This license is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically
if you breach any of its terms; in particular, redistributing the
Software (clause 2) is a material breach. The Author may also terminate
this license at any time, with or without cause. On termination you
must cease all use of the Software and delete all copies in your
    possession or control.

9. Ownership and reservation of rights
The Software is the property of the Author. All right, title, and
interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property
rights, remain with the Author. No rights are granted to you except as
expressly stated in this license; all other rights are reserved.

10. Disclaimer of warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF
ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT
LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE
QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU.

11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE
AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL,
EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR
BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE,
WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE
    POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction
This license is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of
Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of
Norway shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of
or in connection with this license.

13. Entire agreement; severability
This document is the entire agreement between you and the Author
concerning the Software and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous
understandings concerning it. If any provision of this license is held
to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force
    and effect.
